Bipolar day

As my first official day at my new job, I have to say, it was a bit too up-and-down for my liking.

Up: I got to sleep in ’til around 8. Got up, made coffee, drank coffee, fed the cats, etc.

Down: I went to the dentist for my scaling which, it turns out, was not today but tomorrow, so that may actually be an up…

Up: Leaving the dentist, I noticed a robin fly up to this tree – and little baby robin heads shoot up out of a nest to be fed. I had my backup camera on me, which I have so not warmed to, so I drove all the way home to get my Sony.

Down: I didn’t bring it with me in the first place. Will I never learn??

Up: Drove happily back with camera, two lenses and a stool to stand on. Mama Robin did not appreciate the intrusion, but I skedaddled right after, so hopefully her life went back to normal right after the indignity of being “flashed” while feeding her young.

Down: Had a woman beep at me when I pulled over and stopped for a cop car with its lights and siren on. I gave her the finger.

Down: As punishment for giving the woman the finger – which I regretted the moment I did it, but I was peeved – my check engine light popped on. Figures.

Down: Went home, mixed up some sliced banana and yogurt to eat, and the phone rang. My mom volunteers at a school near me and was dizzy and not feeling well, and needed me to drive her home.

Up: Made it to work just on time and didn’t suck at my new job too badly. ;)

Up: Got to go home early on my first day because there were no ads left to do.

Honestly, the pictures I was able to get of the baby robins made up for ALL of it. So, in a word, UP.
