Allen’s Pond redux

Back to Allen’s Pond Wildlife Refuge yesterday. More sun, faster lens… no baby tree swallows. I tell ya, you blink and nature has just moved right along. I did, however, get to see a couple of baby piping plovers, and my God, they are the cutest things ever!!! I have this expression, when I see something adorable, like a fuzzy cygnet, that I’d like to “put it on a stick” – I don’t know why – and the little piping plovers already look like cotton balls on  lollipop sticks.

I used my 50/1.4 lens, with a 2x converter, which is not great for distance shots, but my god, it’s fantastic for macros!!!
